Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) is a treatment process that aims to remove all the liquid waste from brine, which is the byproduct of desalination plants. The focus of ZLD is to reduce wastewater and generate clean water that is suitable for reuse.
Factors such as environmental guidelines, stringent legislation, lack of available water and wastewater disposal options are driving many industrial facilities to implement zero liquid discharge (ZLD) systems as a solution.
To obtain ZLD, Yongyuan applies advanced technologies consisting of evaporators & crystallizers or chemical treatment. This technology is significantly more effective and efficient than conventional actions.

Reverse Osmosis
The reverse Osmosis procedure is one of the technologies that we engage in Yongyuan to make desalination (removing salt from seawater) possible. Beyond that, reverse osmosis is used for recycling, wastewater treatment, and can even generate energy.
The concept behind a reverse osmosis filter system is to break down the concentration level and provide water with less density by forcing under pressure water through filters which are known as a semipermeable membrane to achieve pure water molecules and filters out all the dissolved impurities.
The reverse osmosis membrane is also designed to remove particles of sediment that are so small that they were able to escape the clutches of the pre-filtration process.

Yongyuan leads the way in the use of Ultrafiltration systems for the production of high-quality industrial water. This method is able to filter the solid particles in fluids using hollow fiber membranes with small hole sizes to separate very small fragments.
In general, ultrafiltration is recommended for applications that aim to remove and recover oils and surfactants from wastewater or to achieve ultrapure water for bacteria and particle removal.
Ion Exchange
Ion exchange in water treatment is an appropriate method for removing one or more undesirable ionic contaminants from the water. The procedure is an exchange of ionic substances with other non-objectionable or less objectionable ones. Both the contaminant and the exchanged substance must be dissolved and have the same type of electrical charge (positive or negative). “Water softening” is the most typical example of ion exchange. The purpose of this process is to reduce the additional contents or toxic metals from water.
